Dr. Fatema Arafa, MD is an endocrinologist specializing in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of endocrine and metabolic conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal, pituitary disorders, and bone and mineral diseases.
Dr. Arafa completed her Internal Medicine residency at Staten Island University Hospital and is completing her fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Her clinical interests include adrenal disorders, diabetes, thyroid disease, and complex endocrine conditions.
Dr. Arafa believes that effective endocrine care begins with listening to each patient and understanding their individual health goals. She takes a patient-centered approach to care, emphasizing clear communication and education so that patients feel informed and empowered to actively participate in decisions about their health. She strives to develop individualized treatment plans that are both medically appropriate and practical for each patient’s daily life.
